Graded STAR Practice test.
Remember, that part of successful, test-taking is practicing taking the tests.
Read the passage carefully. Look at all the possible answers. Eliminate as many answers as you can. If you get down to two choices, look for key words in the passage that indicate what the answer may be. Follow your instinct if you don’t know. Never leave anything blank.
If finish early, can do other work, including:
o Grammar packets: Finish bad/badly and good/well work.
o First response on your novel.
o Spelling Unit 28 exercises

National Poetry Month begins Friday. So, we begin by checking in at the Poetry 180 website. Today, "The Blue Bowl" by Jane Kenyon. Write for 10 minutes.

Found poems: poems created from words or phrases found in another text.
For homework. Choose a prose passage from your Civil War book. Focus on finding a page or two that includes a lot of strong description or dialogue. Select words or phrases that are particularly descriptive or strong or emotional. Rearrange. Rewrite. Make a found poem. Make sure to include the passage and page number. Then your poem.
