- Does the topic sentence express an opinion? Underline the topic sentence.
- Is the story named correctly? Is the author’s name written correctly?
- Are there three examples that support the topic sentence?
- Are there three direct passages that support those examples?
- Are the page numbers cited correctly?
- Spelling? Grammar? Mechanics? Is there a concluding sentence that wraps up the paragraph?
- Is the piece in need of transition words?
- What did the writer do well? What can they work on for the final draft?
If you have finished that, and I have checked your edit and your topic sentence, then in lit textbooks, go to p. 297 and answer questions 1-5.

Read: Ray Bradbury’s science fiction story, All Summer In A Day, pgs. 264-270. You can read with partners, switching back and forth. Or on your own, if you chose. Finish reading for homework. Keep track of plot details: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution.
